If you’re choosing between two reasonable options, which I think it’s the case with most NDP internal votes, I’d say you should vote with your heart. I only defend strategic voting if you need to take extreme results into consideration, like rising fascism

I once read a theoretical discussion of strategic voting in ranked ballot voting. I don't remember the specifics, but my take away was the situations involved were way too specific to be practically relevant. Just vote your heart and let the system do its job.
I'm not a statistician, or an expert on voting systems, but I think the whole point of a ranked ballot is that you choose who you think is best, for your definition of best, without having to think strategically. The ranked system will then do the work of selecting who the true majority thinks is best.
I'm not going to, what's the point? Especially if they're already a front runner, why would you want to risk giving an extra point to the one you don't want to win?
