!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

if you are spending above your means, which is a common thing to hide form people, you might want to consider stopping.

[–] Steve@startrek.website 10 points 1 day ago

It sounds like you believe you are spending too much. Maybe just don't do that.

Just get some extra cash from an atm whenever you do groceries.

I was planning on getting my family ...

Have you ever tried it with trusting people?

[–] Shirasho@lemmings.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I would argue not to hide finances like that, especially if it is a joint account or somebody else's money. Be transparent with them - "I am withdrawing X amount for a present for you. I hope you look forward to it." Presents are not about the surprise but receiving something that somebody you really care about put a lot of thought into.

This is how a proper grown up adult would handle this situation.

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is like breaking bad's attempt at money laundering.

[–] Patnou@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

DOn't know about that. Just thought to get a couple team jerseys would be nice. I gave all my money to my mom and she is second on the account. I just wanted to know is there like a place or something I can hide it on paper

[–] nocturne@slrpnk.net 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I hide my money in a box in my sock drawer.

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

That is not a secure place, unless it's in your cum sock.

Jenna2021.com

Looks sketchy but it’s honestly some of the best fakes I’ve bought.

[–] Patnou@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

My brother is named Jason I saw a couple nhl jersey somewhere that were about 4xl 5xl and 6xl

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

For cheaper, go to local sports shops. Plenty sell fake jerseys.

You'll probably have to make a trip to the actual store, because anything online will have the 'official' price.

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Just let your mom in on the secret. Is she getting one or just your brothers?

[–] Patnou@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

The whole family. I would try to find one for my BC Buddy but don't make them in that size.

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Well, it sounds like you put your mom on the account because you trust her judgment. I would have a conversation with her about it, and if you want to keep the surprise for her, just don’t let her know what the item is.

[–] kate@lemmy.uhhoh.com 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

surely it depends how much money and who it’s being hidden from

[–] Patnou@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I put it in my and my mothers name after myself being told I have early onset dementia
