I was aways more of a hero Quest fan. I hated the unfinishable state kings Quest could leave you in

I never heard of Hero's Quest. I'll have to check that out.

It got renamed due to trademark stuff just after the first one was released. It's called Quest for Glory now.

KQ5 was my favorite of the series. Played that over and over on my LCII. We had a MidiMan midi adapter and played out the sound through a Kawai keyboard. It was awesome.

So, I know that this doesn't quite have the same nostalgia feel of the original, but there is a group of fans who have been creating free remasters of the games in the King's Quest and Quest for Glory series.

The IIgs version has the best music. Actual sampled instruments.
