At Oakland and Uvalde, the trained professionals stayed outside, and listened to the killer murder one child after another. This guy ran directly at the killer, without hesitation.
It doesn't get any more heroic than that. Whatever medals exist, give them ALL to this guy.
Deservedly so, great guy all around but damn one cannot help but think it should not have to come to this, you know?
