Is this the community for this kind of posts? Also, if you look at the last posts in that community it was not the lack of mods that lead the the decision.

There is still !reddit@lemmy.ml !reddit@lemmy.world and a bunch of others.

tl;dr for those who don't want to go digging:

the mod didn't want to stay on lemmy.ml as a mod (perhaps at all). for reasons not discussed, they don't like it there anymore and wanted to either move the community, turn it over to other mods willing to stay, or shut it down entirely considering that other reddit-related communities exist elsewhere in the lemmyverse. after asking for community feedback, they chose to shut it down.

It's pretty obvious they don't like the moderation. They linked the modlog showing what they removed. Comments had been removed by someone other than him. They didn't care for it

It was though he asked if someone wants to take it of his hand so he doesn't have to close it but no one came forward and he decided on closing it.
