It amazes me how so many people have amnesia about this guy and behaviors he's had for decades upon decades.
When people say that the American electorate has the memory of a goldfish they aren't lying.
But also it's just an aspect of passage of time and new people being born.
Someone newly 18 and voted for Trump for the first time in 2024 arguably probably didn't know all that about Trump.
In 2018 I worked at a Mexican restaurant and my boss was a younger latino man whose first election was 2016 and he voted for Trump... Because he didn't know the history. He regretted his vote deeply.
So it's also that new, young voters have to go digging into forty years of history to find out and most don't do that.
Like, young people don't question the TSA breaking the fourth amendment because it's been there their whole lives. Why would they question a system that's been in place their whole life?
To be fair, though, they wouldn't have to do much digging to learn about that. A Google search or Wikipedia page would be plenty to make Trump's subsequent behavior unsurprising.
That is true but most young people don't care enough. It's not really until mid to late 20s most people start really settling in on things. At least that's been my case as an American and what I've seen from my peers.
The only reason I was anti trump from the start is cuz my household always hated trump. Way before he ran. We were never into politics and we were raised that talking about politics was rude. It's discouraged to have political discussions. At least where I'm from. I really think this may be a big part of the problem. I come from rural america.
And that's why they're working hard to enshittify search engines by sponsoring the monkey-wrenching of AI slop so legitimate facts that would hold people accountable are never searchable ever again.
I mentioned Wikipedia right after mentioning the Google search.
He's just constantly saying shit, I don't think anyone can keep up with all of it.
He's fundamentally a deeply narcissistic scammer who will always act in his self interest at the end of the day. Honestly I wasn't even against the old republican party, the one that was more so libertarian, small government, decreased spending and the deficit and so on. Of course over the decades that party got hijacked and Trump is almost the final evolution of it into a full blown fascist white christian nationalist party. Unfortunately for them and somewhat fortunately for us all he actually doesn't care about the party, the country, or really anything beyond what glorifies him.
But of course, because the average MAGA has a memory that lasts about a week.
At this point they don't even remember the Epstein Files. They don't remember "they're eating the dogs". They definitely don't remember "no new wars".
"The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command."
The FAKE NEWS at it AGAIN!
-Someone with a TRUMP WILL END ALL WARS Campaign Sticker on their TRUCK!
"No new wars" much?
It aint Tuesday and its already Taco day again.
