Netflix was greatly rewarded for enshittification, so I expect they'll only get worse and other companies with follow suit.

Hopefully some of the other streaming services die and there will be some consolidation.

That’s just going back to cable. 🙃

When I see the word cable, my mind goes to linear tv. A consolidated streaming service would be vastly superior to the consolidated linear tv packages of old cable.

It’s a fair point. I was talking moreso about just generalized bundling. I think both are accurate.

Same day I read this I also read they cut their cheapest ad-free plan. Greed apparently knows no bounds

And consumers just don't care

Don't Think Just Consume

I liked “Leave the World Behind”. It felt like an art movie and I’m always impressed by movies that show how confusing and frustrating it is to be in a crisis situation

There’s nothing to watch on Netflix anymore. Tired of scrolling through the same old movies.

Wow I’m surprised but I guess they know their audience better than I do

[–] Callme_OrangeJoe@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

Which honestly disappoints me.

People without friends or family with a jellyfin server need their escape from this shit capitalism. Looks like they are willing to pay a little more. Wonder how long that will last.
