Yes, its because of that trend, but it’s a nothing article just trying to make a nothingburger newsworthy. Likely a little bit of negative press for them courtesy of competitors too.

I have a family member who complains their phone gets hot and is slow.

New phone that I just setup for them. Can't convince 'em it's from TikTok.
