Lemmy Support
Support / questions about Lemmy.
I don't think there's an option for it in a regular web browser. I have the Boost app on my phone and get notifications that way
As a workaround, if you go to your notifications inbox page, near the top right of the content area there is a little "feed" icon. It is a link to a private RSS feed to your notifications. You can use an RSS reader like a standalone application or a browser plugin to monitor. You can get a notification that way.
Above instructions are for the default lemmy interface as it appears on desktop. You can't find the link in some other interfaces. And kbin doesn't have notification inbox at all that I can find.
Browser notifications are the worst, why would you want that
Presumably so they can be notified of messages when using a browser. They're no different than any other notifications.
I understand what they are, my argument is that they are not great.
You didn't really support your argument.
"I want a thing" "Why do you want that? Those are gross"
That's where we are. There's nothing really to substantiate, it's just opinions.
You interjected in order to explain something that we already know.
An unsupported opinion is one you should probably keep to yourself tbh. It adds exactly zero value to the discussion at hand.
I explained why they want that. You haven't offered anything to explain why they are "gross".
