This is simply lovely. :D
I find it motivating to finally learn HTML and CSS to spin up an indie web site. :D
Post funny things about programming here! (Or just rant about your favourite programming language.)

Wow, ok. That kind of looks fantastic!
Is it bad that I kinda like it?
there's a serious nostalgia vibe to it, reminds us of simpler times :)
The controls were actually not as basic as you would think. Web controls still miss many features these had by default, such as Alt-underlined focus keys, searching through lists and dropdowns by typing the first letters, arrow key navigation in menu controls and treeviews, predictable behavior of Esc, tooltips, context sensitive help, consistent tab focus order and so on.
Their appearance is simple because of the graphical limitations of the time, but then again many modern UI frameworks are very much simplified too (they just use white instead of gray).
The Windows 95 up to XP shells had unparalleled keyboard navigation and customisation built in.
I wonder if someone will use this to recreate the Limewire UI
that would be amazing
Especially if it were used as a local frontend to Transmission or qBittorrent.
I wish I had more time, I'd do it myself.
there's never enough time sadly 😢
