B.C. Energy Minister Adrian Dix said the facility is currently used for about 15 days during peak energy use, usually in winter, and the province intends to keep it that way.

Wait… why is there a gas-fired facility that’s still operational in CR? The Elk Falls Mill has been shut down for 17 years; that means that the Elk Falls hydroelectric facility should be more than enough to power the area?
