For those that seek a future that brings together the best of the insights and objectives of people who, within the social democratic and democratic socialist traditions, have worked through farmer, labour, co-operative, feminist, human rights and environmental movements, and with First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, to build a more just, equal, and sustainable Canada within a global community dedicated to the same goals.

This community is not managed by NDP staff.

Considers

I don't think it'll happen considering who finances Soraya.

I'm a bit ignorant on Montreal municipal politics. Is there any info about who finances Soraya?

The final version says city council “affirms its solidarity with the Palestinian people” and civilian victims of hostilities across the Middle East; reaffirms Montreal’s commitment to international law; and calls on Ottawa and Quebec to show “greater leadership” toward a peaceful resolution, including through diplomacy and sanctions against those responsible for serious violations of international human-rights law.

What a big load of hot air.

Nothing but shallow promises that will result in nothing.

Definitely made it very toothless and milquetoast. Only positive is a potential commitment to sanction those breaking international law. But that could be stretched out so much with "we're waiting on a UN ruling" bullshit.

The second a Palestinian toddler looks in the general direction of Israel: "WE STAND WITH ISRAEL AGAINST THIS PALESTINIAN AGGRESSION!"

Israeli soldiers kill a Palestinian toddler with several hundred bullets from a machine gun: "Let's wait for an investigation and see what the UN says."

Like the investigation into the killing of a Canadian Aid worker with World Central Kitchen
