A massive archive allegedly linked to Valve's old Steam2 content servers has surfaced online, reportedly containing data from around 2003–2013. People digging through it are reportedly finding Portal 2 beta/development content, including a claimed 2009-era build and F-Stop assets from the cancelled early direction of Portal 2. If the archive is authentic, this could be a fascinating piece of Valve history and game preservation. There’s already speculation about other unreleased Valve projects, including Episode Three and Half-Life 3, but nothing credible has confirmed those are actually in the dump.

I wish game companies would release this sort of stuff after a certain amount of time. I wouldn't even care if it was playable, but at least document and release it. Instead we always find these archives through data leaks.
