This is a bit of good news for la ville de Québec urbanism, especially after the shitstorm surrounding "le troisième lien" (French Wikipedia link, can't be bothered to find an English source but essentially the provincial government was trying to force the building of a car-centric tunnel between Québec and Lévis and were forced to backpedal into making it exclusive to public transit due to various studies/public outcry).
I was in Lévis recently and tried walking from our hotel to the campus our event was hosted. I was basically walking along a half-meter wide sidewalk on a 6 lane highway with cars going near 100km/h. I felt like I was an intruder on an alien planet.
Hé M. Marchand, peut-être qu'on aurait besoin d'une guerre contre les chars?
