If the senate bill was designed from the start as a ploy to trick the Conservatives into supporting something patently absurd in the hopes that it will make the Liberals' forthcoming legislation look less ridiculous by comparison, I've got to admit it was well played.

You say that like it's not something the "father knows best" party would bring out on their own.

It can be both a short-sighted bungle from the party of short-sighted bungles, AND a troll by the libs, at the same time.

The real question why did the NDP vote for it because without their votes this doesn't pass the readings so it would just be a another dead bill with little press.
