Well this seems skippable, especially since Niles and Daphne are out.

And John Mahoney's no longer with us. Over all there is nothing of note, nothing exciting in this reboot. Hard pass for me as well.

The closer we get to the series' return, I'm wondering this too.

I've been watching the original series off and on for a few years. I haven't finished it, but it's timeless.
