Ah yes another Israeli showing their true colours and equating all Palestinians to Hamas. Nowhere in the motion did it indicate that Hamas would be legitimized. The motion did call for recognition of Palestinian statehood - if we accept that Israel has a right to exist based on the UN resolution, then Palestine has a right to exist based on the same resolution.

Now on to the nonsense about Palestinians rejecting the peace process. Remember, it was an Israeli who assassinated Yitzhak Rabin, thereby derailing the Oslo accords - there is some evidence that Shin Bet (the Israeli secret service) was aware of the threat on Rabin's life and stood by. In 1996, the final nail was put in the coffin when Israelis elected Netanyahu, knowing full well he was against the peace process.

The only conclusion that can be drawn is that it is in fact the Israelis who are against peace in the middle east, and this woman is simply projecting her views on the Palestinian people.

I am also not convinced this woman constitutes a minority in Israel. The majority of Israelis remain silent during the ongoing campaign against the Gazans.

Listened to MP Housefather about this.. it's like these folks can't connect the dots that this is a response to Israel'a actions and if the death toll today was an order of magnitude lower and starvation wasn't used as a weapon, we wouldn't be talking about this.

An order of magnitude lower would still be 3,000 civilians dead - that's on the scale of 9/11.

I know, I'm not even attempting to get to an "insignificant" number, rather to a scale that sounds more "palatable" for an armed conflict, that wouldn't elicit this sort of response.

I guess proportionality could be a useful gauge. 1:1, 2:1, we're at 25:1 now.

What a crackpot, malunderstood dunce of a comment is this: “When the Hamas sees Israel’s closest allies in the West coming against Israel at a time like this, Hamas will say ‘why should we negotiate any deal?'” Ummmm, because the IDF is on an uncontrolled killing spree, a pogrom, if you will, against Palestinians?

“Even in recent history with (the) Oslo and Camp David (accords,) there were so many attempts (at peace). Israel attempted, Israel wanted a two-state solution, but it was the Palestinians who always said no,” she said.

Ah, so that explains where her confusion is coming from.
