Between Session and SimpleX I'm still gonna recommend SimpleX to people (I can't believe Session gets a pass while specifically using Canadian servers to host your files, and skipping all forward secrecy)... But hey at least the reasoning is laid out in plain English for people to make up their own minds.

I am confused by the coloring:

  • Worldwide decentralized Servers -> red
  • Venture Capital Funding -> green

In my mind session is basically dead, nobody I'm aware of in my security circles use it at all

A list that doesn't even try to include XMPP is immediately disqualified as it shows a severe lack of understanding about the messenger space.
