I bought a H11SSL-i + 7302p combo from a Chinese seller called tugm4470 off ebay and it's been great. They even accepted my best offer. Can't speak for other Chinese sellers but I had good experience with that one.

Why self host? So you can have an independent instance that can't be paywalled, deleted, or modified by a third party company like Google...
