These changes aren't going to prevent a developer from firing up Android studio and running their app. Distribution is where you'll encounter some speed bumps as these changes go into effect.

The people I know are engineers and devops people that all use Linux so maybe it depends on what department and team they are with.
I can tell you from personal experience this is not true, they use linux.

Yeah you are definitely correct. The panels and layout look very similar but the tools not so much.

Are you not making that assumption as well by suggesting it's not playing because your not in the US?
If a phone is lost or stolen, at least that security of unlocking to tap-to-oay will prevent purchases from being made. A plastic card, not so much.
