Your company’s HR can usually generate a letter just saying that you work there. Why would a landlord need more than that?

Yep. Been a freelancer for 3 years and that’s the freelancer way: “feast or famine.” When it’s going well, I’ve made five figures in one month. When it’s not? I’ve sat on the toilet and cried while envisioning panhandling in Central Park.

But I try and keep $20k in a high yield savings account for big emergencies and $10k in another savings account that’s easily accessible

I also have two IRAs I can cash out if shit starts to look REALLY bad. But by that point I’ll just go home.

This. I maintain renter’s insurance because of my storage unit back in the states and my policy has a similar clause.

Agreed, and Phuket is really a resort/holiday town, so idk a lot of people who are just going there to work, in terms of DNs, at least.

I hate to be that person but you’re “DN’ing” for 7 days, you’re working on vacation and prices kinda reflect that. As others have said, Phuket isn’t cheap but the real discounts that DN folks tend to talk about out come when you’re staying for at least a month or two. Having said that, have you tried any Phuket or Thailand FB groups? I’ve found housing in a few places that way, though I prefer Air BnB for travel points.
