A lot of teams were shite before hosting a tournament and be decent during. I wont bet on it. Especially a team like Germany.

No need to force it. I'm in the same boat. Just looking at highlights lately. I've been enjoying tennis (playing and watching) more this year. Honestly it's healthy to have hiatus once in a while to keep the game in perspective. Here's an article you might find interesting.
