Honestly I just wish I could take the steps written in the article but it would most likely be of no use.

I have very few close relationships and am not widely liked or popular by any means, don't use social media because nobody sees my posts anyway, and the country I live in has a lot of media censorship, therefore the vast majority of the population is very conservative, uneducated and narrow-minded about most political topics.

I've been taking a lot of steps lately to reclaim my online privacy, and would hate to see it all thrown out the window by the EU, a union I thought was doing Europe justice before now...

B-b-but fish is so good!! I like it more than chicken or beef actually... Especially if it's in sushi (´┓`*)drool~

I've been seeing all these posts about Linux lately, and looking at them, I can honestly see the appeal. I'd love having so much autonomy over the OS I use, and customize it however I like, even having so many options to choose from when it comes to distros. The only thing holding me back, however, is incompatibility issues. A lot of programs I work with very often are Windows-exclusive, and alternatives supporting Linux are rare. So I guess I'm stuck with Windows, since I deem those particular programs really important.

Any advice from Linux nerds here? All constructive replies are very appreciated.

I've been doing the Couch to 5K program for a while now, and I'm currently at the last week of it. I can run for 30 minutes now, but at a much, much slower pace than the average novice runner at my age and sex (as I've seen when I looked it up, at least).

So what now? The program says that I should be able to run 5k now, but I can't run it in 30 minutes, not even 40 at this pace. How do I increase my speed?

Thank you so much for the responses in advance.

EDIT: I feel like I might've been misunderstood. I can now run for 30 minutes straight, but way less than 5K in that time. The issue is that if I were to run 5K, I would be able to run it a lot slower than 40, let alone 30 minutes, at my current pace.

Honestly, not only do those color schemes look hella pleasing... the names they're given are also incredibly creative. You've got my upvote.

I'm installing pirated Adobe software, and Windows Defender says it detected a malicious program, name is in the post title. Is it a false positive, or is it actually harmful?

On mobile, no matter which instance I browse in, and no matter what I sort by (top day, active, etc.), after a bit of scrolling I suddenly get an influx of recently created posts that spams the whole page, and I can't continue scrolling because the spam just keeps going. I'm not even sorting by new.

Does this happen to anyone else? Have any of you found a solution to this yet? I mostly use social media on my phone and this bug occurs so often that it pretty much renders Lemmy unusable for me :/
