Thanks! Subscribed to some communities. Can I somehow subscribe to the whole instances?

Actually since I quit Insta etc. I've been pretty happy about leaving social media. Tried Bluesky also, but like Mastodon, the Twitter-kind of social media is not for me. Reddit felt helpful and people seemed nice. Right now I don't feel like I need anything new. I hope Lemmy will be enough for me. I'm also trying to scroll my phone less.

So I’ve tried Mastodon, Pixelfed and didn’t like them. Mastodon is nice if you wanna ”tweet”, but that’s not for me. Pixelfed was dead.

I quit Meta because of tech bro fascism, and hated Twitter even before it was X because, let’s face it - nobody has ever changed their opinion on anything because of a Twitter conversation (I know I’m exaggerating, to get my point across). I was in Reddit for a few weeks, and the conversations there seem mostly friendly and constructive, but I decided I don’t want to have anything to do with social media corporations. Besides, I noticed I could scroll endlessly. And that’s not good for me.

Lemmy seems nice. There are still some topics I’m interested in that don’t have active communities, and I’m still learning on how to have my feed from multiple instances. But still, this is the way to go for me.

Against algorithms, against fascism, for free internet. Thanks for coming to my boring Ted talk and have a nice day.

Hell yeah! I just read Bakunin’s God and the State, a collection of Kropotkin’s work, Wengrow’s and Graeber’s Dawn of Everything, Emma Goldman’s Anarchism and other Essay’s and I’m currently reading Rudolf Rocker’s Anarcho-Syndicalism. So pretty much a lot of the classics. Graeber’s ”Are you an anarchist? The answer might suprise you” which you have linked is a great introduction to anarchist ideas.

Fuck, didn’t know about that. Could you please elaborate? No way I’m spending money on the game if true.

Alright. I had Cider installed from the Mint ”app store” (can’t remember the correct name right now) and it worked fine before. I had some updates today, not sure if something broke down because of them. Luckily Apple music seems to be ok via browser after a bit of setting up.

Thank you! I deleted Cider, then re-installed it, but it didn't help. This is what I got (inc. the Cider is not responding, reload the app).

Thanks everybody! Game looks cool, it’s on sale now, though first I’m going to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I’ve seen the game on sale every now and then so might pull the trigger next time it’s on sale.

I've been eyeing on this game for a while after putting hunders of hours to Hunt: Showdown (in Windows). Have you played this game? Did you like? What was the experience like in Linux?

Thanks everybody! I’ll give Heroic a try.

First post outside communities I’m trying to build, Lemmy seems very helpful and fun!

Hi everybody!

I’m using Linux Mint and I mostly play via Steam, but Metro Rexud 2033 was on giveaway in GOG so I would like to play that.

I have Wine installed but I ”locked” the version for a specific guitar app to work.

Which client etc would you suggest is the easiest for playing GOG games on Linux? I’m a noob and an idiot so please explain to me like i’m five years old.

Thanks for your help in advance!
