I think it is the opposite. Because everyone knows they don't need the subscription, right or wrong Peloton needs to make up for subscriptions losses by introducing these one-time fees.

I was so hoping you were going to say that they discouraged you from putting white so that it opened you up for diversity-based scholarships. I am so disappointed to hear that was not the case. What they did is really messed up.

It's both. They make it so you want to speed so they can generate revenue. Wide lanes and low speed limits can yield a lot of tickets

You are right. Turning an adjective into a noun tends to make it more degrading because you've focused on the characteristic rather than the person. That's why referring to people as "blacks" or "females" feels icky. It's why we saw "deaf people" and not "the deafs" or "old people" and not "the olds."

By logistical issues, I assume they mean the logistics of having secret service in the jail along with the president

Most teachers get paid over the summer. Some districts allow you to get paid just during the weeks you work, but most spread the paychecks out over the year.

Why do you think we've reached peak LLM? There are so many areas with room for improvement

Probably start actual fake news about him supporting progressive policies? Either his fan base would start to hate him or maybe we'd finally get some progressive policies passed

If you've ever had blood work done at the doctors office or had any tissue removed, your DNA is almost certainly on file somewhere. Human specimens are very valuable in research so whatever isn't needed for testing is sent off to various research facilities. There really aren't laws about tissue ownership so medical facilities can do whatever they like without your permission, though some still ask. Source: "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks"

It's becuase Texas doesn't have state income taxes so there is literally nothing extra they need to do to comply. Same goes for Florida and Tennessee, which commenters also mentioned.

Don't sell humanity short- we are getting better. When my mom was born, women weren't allowed to get credit cards without the permission of a man. Ruby Bridges is still alive and in her sixties. People forget how recent the Civil Rights era was. We've made a lot of progress in recent decades and while we still have a long way to go, we are improving.
