Tax the fuck out of rental income, and increase the property taxes for investor-owned or foreign-owned homes to commercial rates, then hit them again with a pre-tax that increases at a rate 2x of inflation. We'll stomp that shit out in under a decade.

It's only inevitable if you do nothing. Call up your local political candidate and ask how you can help them win the next election.

The next lawsuit should be for back pay. Premier fatass has been hoarding cash and starving public services -- everyone who got fucked by Bill 124 should get a fat paycheck -- especially those who stuck around, but even people who left should get back pay.

Yeah, it sucks, but there was little I could do to change her trajectory. Her boyfriend is a far-far right oil-patch moron and former cop. I see the shit he posts on Xitter, and he's fellating the same scammers and shitheads.

I miss the person she used to be, not who she is now.

There are no dedicated tracks for passengers trains outside major cities. If you travel between Quebec City and Windsor on Via Rail, you're almost exclusively on freight tracks. Between Montreal and Kingston is like being shaken left and right non-stop for nearly two hours. Impossible to read a book / tablet / phone, type on a laptop -- eating and drinking is difficult.

Meanwhile, the TGV/ICE trains move at over 300km/h, and the speed & motion are imperceptable, even on curves.

Yup, my Mom's FB feed is basically her verbally fellating grifters and psychopaths, and yelling about anyone that has a clue.

I heard this term somewhere recently... Broflakes.

It fits.

but I bet the train is still more comfortable

It's not. In business class, you're immediately behind the engine -- you get to hear it blast the horn multiple times at every crossing.

And no matter which class you're in, the freight trains have beat the piss out of almost every set of tracks, so that when you're at speed, it just about knocks your fillings out -- nevermind the idea of actually getting any work done on paper or laptop because of the constant motion.

Your best bet is to get high/drunk before you get on the train and sleep through it.

My mother has been fooled by all of the extreme-far-right bullshit. She's against immigration (she's an immigrant), she's against vaccination for "a variety of reasons", but mostly because she thinks 99.99% of people survive COVID because her (vaccinated) 90-year-old mother did (even though it killed a dozen people in the same care home during an outbreak). She thinks the transition to 'green power' means we won't have electricity after the sun goes down. She thinks the global elite will crash the economy to redistribute wealth to themselves.

She wasn't always like this. She was a smart and savvy business owner.

This is what Russia want Canadians to be like.

The solution to car thefts is for manufacturers to make them less easy to steal. Rolling codes tech is over 25 years old.

Apple has done a good job in making extraordinarily valuable phones practically worthless in the hands of criminals... Ubiquitous tracking, encryption of data by default, parts like screens and cameras are synced to the device itself, practically destroying a black market for phone parts. Yes, this causes problems for legit users, but the good outweighs the bad.

In this case, the government is essentially banning hammers and screwdrivers. F0's are compliant with the law when they are delivered to end users - frequency ranges are blocked, functionality is limited. Anyone who can customize a F0 to steal cars can build their own hardware from parts scavenged from the local eco centre, or ordered in bulk off Mouser or Alibaba.

If a car can be stolen with a battery-powered toy of off-the-shelf electronic parts assembled into a cute box, maybe automakers need to modernize their security.
