Seems like the legislation was necessary based on the fact nothing prevented a mentally unwell child murderer from changing their name, which happened years before it was found out.
I am so sick and tired of people who refuse to admit that safe guards are needed to prevent people from abusing systems.
Numerous things require criminal record checks. Will these same people refuse to work because of a required criminal record check? Will they refuse one if they wish to adopt a child? How about refusing a passport for travel?
If you aren't willing to get a criminal record check to change your name it isn't that important to you.

Imagine if the author came out and simply said "What the Likud party is doing is wrong on every level and must be stopped".
Imagine doing that instead of saying Hamas is justified in their actions by painting a narrative around the US occupying Canadian land and asking us to imagine "what Canadians would do".

What more should be done to give him "help" other than the free time needed to seek it, no pay cut which allows him to pay for it, and no consequences for breaking the law he was tasked to enforce?
