That is absolutely a false equivalence

I visited last month and it made me realize just how bad it's gotten. I had it in my head that I was in a reasonably safe area of the US, but it's getting worse. I may have to actually consider the asylum for trans people if it becomes a reality :~;

Do I have bad news about twitter... At least no one profits from it here

The car has some form of AT&T GSM connectivity. I recently discovered a WiFi hot spot setting and it's a paid service provided by AT&T. I am able to schedule service appointments via the car, and it has an SOS button and an "Info" button that primarily is for roadside assistance. I'd prefer to be able to disable it. I was gonna say I thought Subaru was a bit better. Buttttt it looks like I'm wrong.

This looks like a Subaru. That being said, from what I've parsed, their privacy policy looks better than most. My 2021 hasn't had any obnoxious OTA updates. The worst it does is push easily dismissed service notifications. No secret codes on how to reset a light.

It drives me insane how many people turn a blind eye to the funny numbers needing to always go up. Every "investor" will tell me how the market has never not recovered; how I'm the fool and surely not them for trusting in the system.

I hate that my retirement depends on a 401k, or money that constantly depreciates.

I know so many great people in Texas who feel powerless. It's sad

That's how it always seems to be now. At least in IHG hotels that my former employer would always put me in. Other chains seem to be a little better

Sorry to say but I've made it clear to even my employer that Florida is a no go for me. To the point where I will seek out flights that do not have layovers there if it comes to that. Being trans and having the use of bathrooms outlawed forces my hand. A ton of industry conferences are leaving the state as soon as their contracts are up.

In an overwhelming number of situations, yes. Cops are intended to prioritize property over people and convictions over justice. Those who speak out about injustices face retribution from their peers and little defense from their union. Police unions act as criminal legal defense to eschew responsibility.

There have even been legal cases of departments refusing to hire people because they were "too smart". This is largely speculated to be due to fear of those who are more intelligent speaking out, and having a moral compass of their own rather than blindly following.

Told someone I played rust and they asked if I was racist or suicidal because those are apparently the qualifiers.

It really does bring the worst out of humanity, but at the same time I've met and known people for years who were my neighbors or even rivals
