You can rent serverspace from a provider. Sort of selfhosting around a corner.

That is too short. I still have no idea why I would want to install that on my server.

I feel like a lot of projects are missing a way to find out what they do without installing them.

I don't think they are hiding anything. They state Leta needs a big amount of users to be useful, and that they think Leta will not have them in the future.

Therefore Mullvad focuses on where they can be more effective: Browser and VPN.

Recently Google decided that in the future for an app to be installable on an Android device, the developer of this app needs to be ID'd and registered at Google. They claim this is in order to "to better protect users". However, I think, this is a move to get more control over the Android ecosystem, and the data they can collect with it. If anyone who wants to develop an app for Android devices has to be registered with Google, this puts all the power of who to allow distributing an app to Google.

Furthermore F-Droid shows, that safe app stores can exist without registration, neither of users nor of developers. There is zero malware or spyware on the F-Droid store. What there is on F-Droid is thousands of beautiful, useful and, most importantly, safe apps. And this entire ecosystem is at risk, because Google wants to gain more control over its users and over the Android operating system.

If you don't mind the price, the Prusa Core One checks all these boxes. It is what I have and use happily, with PLA, PETG and TPU. I bought the assembly kit, and it was built within a weekend following the very good assembly manual. But you can also get it pre-assembled.

Material wise you can consider PETG, it gives me nice durable prints on my Core One.

What do you mean by "really"?

Could you please point me in the direction of that setting? I cannot find it.

Edit: After searching a bit I found the setting to specify which languages to see in the WebUI of my lemmy instance. Thank you for giving this idea @outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com.

Or OrcaSlicer decides to stop bothering with locked down, enshittified hardware. Who knows.

I am asking for a single device that can not only charge all common battery types, LiPo, LiHv, LiIon, LiFe, NiMh and NiCd. But also it can test them for capacity, health and faults automatically. Basically, you put any (rechargeable) battery insode and the device tells you if the battery is ok to use, what current and max capacity are, all while the battery gets charged.

If such a device does not exist, what would come closest?

I will spend around 4 weeks in far-north Scandinavia. I am wondering what I should take there. I am expecting freezing weather and little daytime. I will do some outside work, also in the snow, e.g. some builsing maintainance and cleaning snow.

I have not been that far north yet, so what kind of clotting should I bring specifically? Also, are there some general things I should consider?

Does anyone know of a mouse that can be used wireless, with a replaceable battery and that can be connected to the PC via USB-C to recharge the battery? Obtainable in Europe.

The reasoning is that I do not want to get into the situation where I do not have a charged replacement battery at hand and am therefore unable to use the mouse.

Currently I am using a mouse without a replaceable battery which got so old that the battery only holds for 1-2 hours without being connected to the cable.

I know I could simply go with a wired mouse, however, I like the cleanliness of minimal cables on my desk. Thanks for suggestions.
