All SCIFs are classified areas but not all classified areas are SCIFs. Depends on what's on the approved list. Anytime I get something with connectivity that's not on the list already, usually just Gshocks for me, I submit a request to the security folks with the model number, link to tech specs, and always mention I'm happy to loan it if they need to look at it for some reason (they never do) and it's always been approved and added. So far it's been MTG line but recently got my GND-H1000 AND H2000 approved. They said it's not the BT, it's the sensors. No mics and such are big no nos. Most RAs and "compounds" are this way. Just ask. And remember to be aware of where it can and can't go.
My misunderstanding of this and assuming nothing with connectivity could ever go in is actually what got me into watches in the first place. Now I have 50-60 watches and can rock the nice stuff on day shift and the practical stuff when working nights.
