So I have a dozen of $400-$500 entry level watches, think tissot, certina, seiko, citizen etc. they are all pleasant to the eye and are reliable quartz timepieces except one mechanical watch, which I don’t worry about getting scratches or bumped around stuff and I get to rotate and try something “new” every week so I am pretty “chuffed” for now

I am thinking of getting a high end watch as I progress on my career, think longines or tag maybe even a omega, but I shudder at the service cost as I don’t make that much money (can already buy 2 pretty shitter watch with each service) and concerned with the fragility and accuracy of a mechanical movement, also it seems the luxury watch market bubble is very uncertain right now so it’s might not be a good store of value…

Anyone who own a luxury watch can share their thoughts on this?

I hated this $75 seiko solar chronograph that I bought second hand after I broke the bracelet. Since then I have lots of more fancier watch and that watch was no longer giving me satisfaction. I was getting frustrated at it trying to fix it and finally lose it and I felt I don’t want it anymore. I threw it away for peace of mind, now I am feeling a bit regret, anyone threw their watch into the bin?
