“Do what you can. And what you can do is enough,” she said. …Ocasio-Cortez reminded her followers several times that no deed of resistance is too small.

Honestly, continuing to exist/taking a moment to be nice to yourself in an administration that hates you counts. Keep existing.

A lot of these click-baity titles and over-simplified summaries seem to be adding to this very problem of guilting people for being overwhelmed.

Unfortunately that’s the system but please don’t feel guilty for being human. Kindness and compassion is resistance, and starting with yourself is a valid step.

Fuck the forces who are selling a solution to a problem they created but are trying to say is your fault. /endrant

I’m like, borderline aro(?) and yeah having the option to proceed down a meaningful friendship path with my favorite characters/have them move in (shoutout to Krobus in SDV) is awesome when provided.

I can also see the “empty tokenism” as in, players deserve more fleshed out queer relationships instead of rainbow stickers being half-heartedly slapped on existing characters but yeah unfortunately the reviewer is probably a pearl clutching “woke DEI other-buzzword bad” type.

Buying anything from California will also teach you this.

(They put cancer warning stickers on everything, for anyone not familiar)

That tracks. There’s a greater chunk of time that’s not yet tainted when you first wake up, and when the air doesn’t hurt your face it’s nicer to be out in fresh air.

Glad there’s some data behind the common sense at least.

Reminds me of the dorkwad who leaked military(?) secrets to his friends on discord a couple years ago. I think he was about their age at the time too, which tracks.

How dare we want our country to be better and for our fellow citizens to not die in cartoonishly preventable ways? /s

I love your optimism.

Unfortunately the live-rotting musk-scented fleshlight probably enjoys this sort of attention.

Still funny though.

Honestly just taking the step to vent, even on the internet can be a lot and is something worthwhile.

Your survival instincts are kicking in, even though you’re dealing with a situation stacked against you. That takes guts.

I’ve been in a situation not unlike yours, and yes you’re facing a lot of unfairness and yes a lot of advice is going to fall flat. I got out by sheer luck. I can only hope you get some opportunity to jump out of the hell you’re going through because it takes a massive toll.

That said, while quiet spite might not change your relationship with the bad people in your life (nothing probably will, while you’re stuck with them at least), it’ll keep you alive. Keep venting, keep finding the tiny escapes and maybe one day one will be big enough to get away from where you are and a bit closer to sanity.

You’re not crazy. It’s not you. I may just be an Internet stranger but you’re seen. Take the time you need to grieve and be angry and cry, and keep fighting for you.

I feel like I’ve been violently ripped back in time to 2011. This is glorious
