It's your duty to vote to stop fascism (again). I'm so tired of that message. They can earn my vote, I've tried stopping fascism twice now, what have they done besides maintain the status quo

If we do have a 28 election, surely they'll have a primary and not just run whoever the leadership picks and proceed to campaign on our civic duty to prevent fascism (every 4 years)

A vasectomy.

Edit: sorry I get it now. I got peace of mind knowing that I was in control of contraception. Not having children means a lot of freedom. So basically freedom and peace of mind.

I am squeamish as all hell. Didn't think I could do it. There's a consult. They give you a Xanax, I'd recomme r telling them you're a heavyweight and get a driver, also recommend to pay the extra 100 bucks for the laughing gas.

It's over fast. There's minimal pain. I ordered a jock strap and used it to hold ice packs over my underwear. It's uncomfortable but I just layed up all weekend. Overall what I got out of it is completely worth it.

I'll answer any questions you have

I've set up an off grid solar system out of necessity. Used to be an electrician so I know a good bit (but not everything by any means). What are your questions I can maybe point you in the right direction.

Based on your initial question, it depends on local zoning. You can likely legally grid tie a set up and have a battery backup. I think if you want to be legal I'd go that route.

If you want I think you could set up a completely separate system in a more sneaky fashion that is completely isolated from the grid / your existing house circuitry. But when grid tying (including into your house circuitry) you have to be pretty safe because that power can go upstream and feed the grid or the house when workers think the power is off, which is obviously very dangerous and could get you in a lot of trouble if it went wrong.

Articles are so much better than videos a lot of the time. I'll watch a video for kinetic things, like how to flush my radiator etc.

Its annoying when information is in a video that could easily be written out and skimmed.

One data point and I'm American, but figured I'd give my two cents on why I did it.

In addition to all the reasons you listed I think that my own mental health is an obstacle, and also the increasingly limited access to women's healthcare.

Making the decision to not have kids was a complex issue for me as I imagine it is for others too. Tbh the political and economic climate was probably the final push I needed, but there's probably at least 10 reasons in total.

Does anybody have any suggestions for alternatives for chats?

I use it a lot for classes (students use them) and video games.

Does anybody have a screenshot of the chat the article is referencing? It's a slack chat with journalists iirc

The screeshot was at the top of my feed yesterday and now I can't find it anywhere

Edit nvm it's ay the bottom of the article yaaay

I grew up in MS and was detained in county juvenile facilities multiple times. It's awful.

The place mentioned in that article was one of the places they'd threaten you with, and the rumors about what happened to kids there were terrifying. Thank God I never went to one, the county ones were bad enough. That's where I found out I didn't actually have any rights.

Can't believe he pardoned a judge profiteering off of that shitshow.

Mississippi is corrupt af

Slightly off topic, but yesterday at the top of my Lemmy feed there was a screenshot of a slack channel where (supposedly nyt journalists) were discussing either posting his writings or images of his face.

I went back to look for it and can't find it. Anybody know where I can find it?
