My current setup is as follows

Unraid host

-80TB of storage -i5 10600t -compact mitx build

Used primarily as a nas and media server with the vast majority of docker containers related to media think Plex and all the *arrs to grab stuff

Also use the iGPU to transcode video

Proxmox host

-AMD 5950x -nvidia 3080 -AMD wx4100 -3x 4tb nvme drives

This runs my gaming vm as well as an Ubuntu server which I’m trying to replicate my docker setup on unraid but within portainer.

Various other vms

I choose this to do vms on instead of unraid because it’s just frankly 1000x better at managing vms that unraid

SFF gaming pc

-AMD 3900x -AMD 6700

Unused since gaming vm has been setup in Proxmox.

I’ve been debating to either combine everything into Proxmox to take advantage of that 5950x processing power and to have only 1 machine or to separate everything and have a nas just be a nas, Proxmox only do vms and containers and my gaming rig only for gaming.

None of this stuff is rack mounted

I have a mid tower A nas case And a mini itx case

The mid tower can fit all the spinning rust I currently have 8x 10TB drives.

What is you opinion on which way I should go with this?
