I figured it out! You had to run configuration after the terminal install. Now I'm cruising NSA free!

All I've done so far is add the DNS server to my VPN, Mulvad, and run the install of Next DNS. I have not linked my ID with the OS and can't figure out how to do it. How do I link it? I can't figure out where to set it up. On Android I added to the PrivateDNS in settings. But in Parot OS I can't figure out where that is. I am so sorry to be such a newb here.

Scary times.

OuterTube is awesome! I tried it and LOVED its interface. I feel like it had the most fun interface but it crashed a few times on me and Metrolist won out. Then of course, I found ViMusic. I'd try for Outer Tune again but Vi is the only one built to use Piped instances instead of YT Music.

Metrolist is my backup player incase something happens to ViMusic. Metrolist has solid quality and beautiful interface and really stable. But Vi is just perfect. But if Metrolist is working for you then dont fix what isn't broken.

They're keeping a more constant one going as a mod all through lite apk's and 9mod. This one didn't run so stable for me. Be sure to install the one called clone. Through the Spotify clone app I was linked to the official github for the actual new ViMusic. https://9mod.com/download/spotify-x-gold-43447

Thank you for taking the time to check it out! Signing up for a piped account was tricky for me. Let me grab you the link to register for the instance then sign into that in the settings in ViMusic. Also disable power saving options and if you have issues then enable invincible mode. https://piped.private.coffee/ Took me a while to figure that out and find it. Welcome to true music anonymity!

I don't believe Harmony is based on Piped. Doesn't it base off a YT account? I tried it. I tried them all.

Only on github for now.

I don't believe this is the same original developer. But this is definitely ViMusic and the only one I found that is based on piped account instead of YT.

From the depths of the abyss it returns! Spent WAY more time researching open source music streaming applications! I went through it all just like the rest of you with RiMusic and Kreate and Metrolist. What eluded me was just one that didn't crash and lose connection, didn't run on a YT account and was privacy oriented. It took so much I'm not going to bother trying to unpack all of that time I'll never get back.

Anyways, what sets this ViMusic apart from Kreate and Metrolist is that this ViMusic runs on a piped account. So it's cloaked and super stable. I've tested it for hours now and not one crash. Audio quality is at the highest setting it can establish.

Did you miss ViMusic? What music app and configuration are you running?

Rethink also has Tor built in as a proxy. If you use signal you can change to the open-source Molly and then route Molly through Tor. Then good fucking luck collecting info. Then also good luck having anyone to talk to. But otherwise yes Rethink is better.

This is my favorite app that I never got to use but inspired me to learn how to do DNS configurations to work with traditional VPN's like Mullvad and iVPN. They have built in DNS filters that are putrid compared to DNSNet. But a DNS can't run on its own so it casts itself like a VPN so the system runs through it and the DNS then filters the system of trackers. If you don't think you need this and it's just Greek then download App Warden and run a scan. That ain't normal Comrade. Stop normalizing the end. Anyways I strayed. When the DNS casts itself as a VPN it prevents real VPN's from connecting, leaving your IP vulnerable. No tor, no VPN. So I discovered NextDNS and after a month I learned how to use private DNS in the connection settings of Android to point it to NextDNS and then how to configure the custom DNS option in my VPN (Mulvad) to also point to NextDNS. Then I setup tor in the background. I hope this helps someone skip a month of work and can focus that time on being happy. Sorry I can't direct you to each step I talked about. It was a LOT of work.

Yeah they're intending for that to be used by Graphene users with play services sandboxes.

Howdy Comrades! I spent the morning working with the new Tor VPN that's still in beta testing on the play store. However, I could not get it above 5 Mbps. I get 100 MBPS split tunneling VPN on Mullvad. I tried the built in bridges, personal bridges it gives you, no bridges and yeah. Nothing helped. Only 5 Mbps with 200 ping.
