Thank you. I got the SER6 with Ryzen 9. Let's see how it goes.

Yep, I was leaning into the Steam Deck this morning when some folks said I could do it without a dock, and having it in my hands for gaming would be nice, but I'm now going to the Beelink camp simply because I don't want hassle when I use it as a regular PC. and for the same price I get more capabilities with the Beelink.

Thanks for your insight.

Okay, that's an interesting opinion. What do you mean by 45% of the Steam Deck experience? And by 'you could do both', you mean buy both? lol

That's great, that is definitely pulling me to the Deck side. Thank you!

Thanks. I will look into the Deck's default OS more closely to see its advantages and disadvantages. I don't want to spend too much time fiddling around with stuff so if I can keep that that'd be great. The handheld aspect would not be its primary use but it definitely is a big plus. To top it off, it seems that using a stacked dongle like these for HDMI/USB ports/charging would do the job of the dock, that would seal the deal, I think. Should this dock be enough in terms of battery for charging, HDMI, an external disk, and a couple of Bluetooth joystick receivers? https://www.amazon.ca/UGREEN-Revodok-Ethernet-Docking-Station/dp/B0BNBJFFB2/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2SDJV6TQJWS5M&keywords=usb%2Bhdmi%2Bcharging%2Bhub%2Bdock&qid=1706281163&refinements=p_36%3A12035762011&rnid=12035759011&s=electronics&sprefix=usb%2Bhdmi%2Bcharging%2Bhub%2Bdoc%2Caps%2C94&sr=1-6&th=1

Hey all, I want to upgrade the setup that I use on my RV. I use a Raspberry Pi 3 for basically watching videos and some retro gaming. I want to be able to play more resource-intensive games, although definitely do not require anything AAA in the highest settings - I'm talking about Starcraft 2, Shieldwall, TABS, Humankind... basically anything that runs fine on my 4-year old System76 Gazelle, that has a GeForce GTX 1650 card.

I thought I had to upgrade it to a mini PC and I was looking into some Beelink ones with good GPUs, but then I realized the existence of handhelds like Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. What appealed to me is their lightness when compared with a mini PC. Right now I have a Command strip on my Raspberry Pi and I just stick it to the wall; I was trying to avoid mounting yet another thing on the shabby wooden beam of the trailer where I have the TV screen mounted. Also it seems that the mini PC fan could be noisier than what I'm used to with the Pi, and the handhelds would be better on that front as well.

However, the Pi and the Beelink seem to be better suited for connections - by that I mean the external USB drive where I keep my movies and series, the joystick dongles for our pair of GameSir T4s... if I understand correctly, the dock is what provides this sort of connectivity to the Deck, which means I can't just hang it in any way, it would have to be sitting on the dock, mounted somehow to the wall. That is doable, but I've read as well that connecting USB drives is not very straightforward (I do plan to install Ubuntu on the Deck and use the software I want, not the interface that comes with it).

I also plan to do some light browsing/working on it when I bring it home, but I'm not too worried about it because if it handles gaming, it handles those.

Am I wrong in any of these things?

Exactly. Tlaib literally says its meaning is of peaceful coexistence. There is absolutely no comparison with the woman above saying all Palestinians should be dead.

It's like saying "Black Lives Matter" is racist because the implication is that only black lives matter, when it is actually meant to say black lives also matter. Bad faith interpretation.

Maps have started including NZ now?

No, I'm suggesting taking a shower once a day should not be related at all with going to work or not.

ew, who wouldn't be taking a shower if not for work? 🤮

they want us to be back at the office because of "connections" and this sort of bullshit, so yeah, at least half of my time there will be that, then.

thankfully I only had to do this for 1 or 2 months when they forced a RTO, before I left that job and found the fully remote one that I am since then.
