You just need a cheap esp 32 LoRa board with tiny antenna. You can find it all for pretty cheap. Power it via usb. You then use your phone or computer to access it and send messages. There's a learning curve to using it. It’s been hit and miss for me in regards to messaging other people in my city. I think it would be great for telemetry in regards to other uses for it.

The taxpayer may foot the bills, but there are options to add other stipulations to any potential settlement in addition to a monetary award such as people getting fired, mandatory training with all the local police regarding the first amendment and so on. Hopefully something like that can be rolled into any litigation.

The lack of sleep was the worst part of the long extended deployment period that I was on. Our work center had like three people doing rotating shifts standing watch, keeping equipment running. I’d be up all night and in the morning we couldn’t go to bed until after quarters and the XOs inspection of berthing, which was like 11am. But then it was lunchtime and after that we couldn’t sleep because of GQ drills in the afternoon. Basically when all that was done and over I had to go back on watch. There would be times I’d be awake for several days straight. When the stars aligned perfectly and I could get 8 hours straight, oh man it was the best sleep I ever had.
I haven’t logged in in probably a year
Seems like proctored, handwritten essay exams are the best way to deal with it all.
Linking testosterone to military readiness is pure bullshit.
The question is what are they to do if a kid starts their own instance. Will the kid get fined?
