Kbin already supports this, and it makes it a lot easier for Mastodon users to find and interact with Lemmy content. Hopefully Lemmy gets it soon.

So things should never improve?
I didn't want the phone listening all the time just so I could occasionally say "Ok Google, play the news"
Just FYI, your phone isn't truly "listening" to you. There's a separate, low-power chip in most phones these days that has one singular function, which is to listen for the "wake phrase". It doesn't understand anything else besides "Hey Google" or "Hey Siri", or whatever phrase your device uses. This chip has a very small amount of memory, and can only process about 2 seconds' worth of audio, and has no storage or ability to transmit data to any other part of the OS. The actual OS can't hear anything you're saying 99.99% of the time.
When it detects the wake phrase, it triggers waking the phone and activating your mic, where it actually starts to listen to you for the next few seconds to hear your command. But before that, the device can't hear you at all.
Same goes for smart speakers like Nest, Echo, Home Pod, etc. Granted, Echo has had some issues where it was improperly detecting the wake phrase due to some very bad false positives a few years ago, but I believe Amazon has patched that now, as verified reports of Echo devices hearing more than they should are a lot more rare as of late.
I just don't understand why they removed Jen Taylor's voice from Cortana. That was... the whole point of Cortana, IMO. Without Taylor's voice model, Cortana is just another soulless, half-baked digital assistant that doesn't do what you want it to half of the time. All of the charm came from the fact that it was literally Cortana from Halo.
For what? This article isn't about browsers, this is about a digital assistant app.

Yes, but he's also the sole owner of the company. They went private after the acquisition, so there are no more shareholders. It's his company now, so he is the one directly responsible for it at this point.
If you're the sole owner of a taco truck and you crash into an orphanage with it, you are responsible, not the LLC you registered.
Think of how much money Reddit could have possibly lost as a result of people deleting their technical posts from the platform, and how much money they likely make in a day. Even if one were to assume that every user deleted their technical posts, I would have to assume that it cost Reddit less than a tenth of a percent of what they earn in a single day to lose those posts, given the scale at which the rest of Reddit operates. Realistically, that type of content is a very, very small portion of what Reddit actually monetizes across their platform.
Now think of how much of a person's day may be spent trying to troubleshoot a technical problem when all the answers have been deleted from the internet.
Who do you think suffers more from this? Reddit with their billions of dollars, or randos on the internet spending their time trying to find deleted knowledge?

That's literally part of the problem. He hadn't paid interest on the loan he took out to buy Twitter.
But also, he was CEO when these things all happened. He is the one who made the decisions not to make payments toward rent on two of his offices, toward his loan, or toward his consulting firm. I'm not sure what sort of mental gymnastics you're doing to say that he isn't responsible for these things. Twitter wasn't having those problems pre-Musk, and is only having these problems as a direct result of Musk's decision-making. That's kinda part of what being a CEO entails.

While I agree with the hardware part of it (makes it a pain in the ass to order coils online, as I have to sign for the delivery but I work nights and am usually sleeping during the 8-hour delivery window), I have to disagree when it comes to juice. I don't see an issue with that being regulated as a tobacco product, since the nicotine in most juices is still extracted from tobacco plants (usually from the same tobacco farms that provide leaf to cigarette manufacturers), and the sale of juice should absolutely be restricted from minors.
Though, the current regulations we have aren't exactly adequate, and absolutely need to be reformed. As an adult, I shouldn't have as much issue as I do just trying to order consumables for my device.
Who implied this would be done haphazardly?
Also, there's plenty of use for tags. They're already on Kbin and work great.
