Ignoring that it’s a re-dial, you aren’t getting much value besides a coronet logo. You’ll find much better watches in terms of fit, finish and movement at that price, maybe 5 of them with that amount. If you really like the look of the watch, go for it, but you’ll only get opinions like “ew this is a redial, not worth it” which I would absolutely ignore.

Your opinion is the only one that really matters.

I buy rather cheap watches for several reasons including personal safety and my idea that most luxury brands have nothing to offer beyond status.

However, in terms of my other purchases, I only buy them if I can afford them the same number of times as digits in their value. For example, if I want an iPhone, I have to be able to buy it 4 times without it denting my bank account severely. In case of a Rolex, 5 times. An S Class? 6 of those please. So on and so forth. That way the purchase never burdens me.

I’d pick a Miyota over anything with a 2824 or 2836 architecture, because every year that passes you’re basically flipping a coin to see whether your set lever will skidaddle out of place or not. My father had no fun time with his Calibre 5 three years into its lifetime.

Look for NOS or good condition used Seiko Lassale.

Wow, that’s crazy. Showed this around at work and the general consensus is that this would be a pre-80s model, maybe mid 70s. It’s a water resistant watch, hence the Seastar branding, and it’s part of the Visodate collection because at the time, having a date complication was something to advertise.

As it says, it’s a Seastar T12 with a Visodate complication.
