I still can't believe all this really accelerated because some guy got under Kawai and he got hurt. The next season it was made very clear to offensive players that virtually any foul was a defensive foul, and over the last decade dozens of guys suddenly follow through a shot with a big forward kick/flail. Basically ending in this crap, where Reaves is actively trying to drop kick someone. Hell, now he's established that as a natural shooting motion.
Can you even imagine trying that shit on an asphalt court with no ref? Always feels like that should be a decent baseline.
