I'm considering this possibility as one of the most likely now... I have an Alfa wifi adapter and I have already tried 5or 6 antennas and I never seen a performance boost .. no matter how big the antenna I connect... Yeah some of them were hand made but I made sure to be precise... Here's the link ... It's not my antenna it's an identical one taken from the internet (the Alfa adapter is not the one I have ... Mine is 2.4/5.8 and that's exactly why you had problems I guess ... )

Lemmy is ![](https://www.coaxrf.com/wp-content/uploads/KGrHqZoQFIGltnkrIBSINP4LCJw-60_57.jpg )

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜… Apparently I'm not even able to load an image ๐Ÿ˜‚

Btw I knew Andrews channel there's where I got the idea fo soldering it half way through the C he does that in the video 900mhz Yagi changing the coax...

Thanks man for the useful info what about where I connect the coax ? Does a different point in the same dipole makes a difference? I mean if it makes sense there's a difference in connecting a coax to the top of the C or to the bottom ?

I know you should stay away from sketchy links hers one anyway...

Update: can't load the images some Lemmy errors pop's up ...

Hy I bought a cheap Yagi wifi antenna need some help cause the previous owner broke it and tried to fix it red neck style... It didn't work ... I hope I would be able to add a picture here is a breaf description anyway it's the cheapest brand you can find online the main element is formed into an oval shaped metal ring and here comes my question where should I solder the middle wire ? On one end ? On the other ? Should I pass it throu the (hollow) metal ring and weld it back to himself ? I have seen people build Yagies with similar ovaly shaped rings and they made the cable pass through half the ring and weld it there the problem is that my ring is shaped exactly like a C it doesn't have a second gap in the middle of the left part ... (Here=>C) English is not my first language hope it's good enough to be understood ask if not ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I Will spit out what i think cause this threads are full of words and empty of content... Almost any Linux distro is good for starting out ... Make sure it has a nice manual and community Ubuntu, mint debian or something similar... Vs code Is a Microsoft fork of vs codium an open source app, to avoid telemetry just use vs codium... Remove adds can be done in different ways in my opinion add bloock on Firefox is a good start... File explorer are good on any Linux distro just learn how to use one ... If u have a document u should probably save it in the document folder... in your user home ...

It's a jst connector as others have already said you now can 1 stock up every jst known to man to have a chance of getting the right one ... 2 just solder on the cables on the holes... In the right order ...

Yeah i agree I torrent only occasionally and I haven't ever received an ISP angry letter but that's sounds right to me ...

The only thing I never understood is if I use a VPN my traffic is passed encrypted to a remote server somewhere else but from there on its unencrypted so the servers owner ISP should notify him about my inlecit traffic and it make sense he will notify me back so what's the point in relocating an angry letter... ?

Yeah I understand it's a personal point of view for me setting up my card and remember to pay is way worse hassle, on the other hand also installing newpipe and learning a new interface it's not that easy ...

[โ€“] DNOS@lemmy.ml 16 points 5 months ago (4 children)

You sparked my interest, in which way YouTube premium is better than newpipe ?( I'm using the sponsor block version) I mean you won't convince me to give my money to such evil company but I'm curious about what convinced you ...

Hey guys i cant find any usefull guide on how USB c charging works in depth. In particular i have bought a pair of Sony headphones which i would like to make wireless change so I also bought a crappy wireless coil meant to convert a phone into wireless charging. i opened the headphones, located the ground and 5v pin coming from the USB connected the circuit and surprise the charging led doesn't light ... The charging board is separated from the main board so I checked the flat cable that connects them, found the 5v and gnd ,spliced into it, and the led light lit as if it was charging. the next morning the led was of signaling the headphones are full, unfortunately after powering them on the battery status indicated was still 20% as the evening before ... Have I done anything wrong ? What about that phase when they negotiate the power output with a magic resistor ? What should I try next? Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
