Well, most are run by 1 person or a small team. None have profits. Some have donation pages, and that's it. So they are exempt by definition.

I also want to give a shout out to the YouTube channel "Borderline OCD" as someone who works in small electronics, he's one of the few I don't cringe at when he's soldering. So if you want a good example for soldering, he should be high on anyone's list.
I agree. Though off-brand batteries can be a good replacement, if you find a reputable brand. I've replaced my battery with a bigger capacity off-brand battery, and it's been working like a charm for 4 years now.

If you go web browsing and text editing just get a 2nd hand one. Most laptops can do that. I would just replace the HD with an SSD if it doesn't have one.
I have an old hp laptop of 12+ years. But hp is a bitch to replace the HDD. So that was an adventure.
It doesn't seem that way. It looks like a federation issue, but I'm not sure why. There's 2 communities from ml on there. One of them is !paradoxextra@lemmy.ml but it hasn't had recent posts. The other is !meta@lemmy.ml and the most recent post is from 23 days ago. So I guess after that is when problems started.

Change the sort options. I use scaled, new and top 12h most of the times. You can also change your default sort in your profile settings
In voyager you can also change the default sort, as it is defaults to active, and active will give you old content too.
