It's a good series. It starts out feeling a little bit derivative, but comes into its own in books 2 onward.

I'm waiting for book 5 to fully release in Graphic Audio before I dive into it again.

Only not banned because I choose to not interact with spaces like that if I can help it.

Has The Onion filed for bankruptcy yet?

Because reality continues to out-Onion The Onion

That'd be super nice

Maybe I could enable fast boot and a couple other settings I've been meaning to change

Something about this hits the uncanny valley for me.

Touched-up with AI?

Yeah it sounds like the general consensus is

"Talk to a copyright lawyer. The idea sounds interesting but legally flimsy if you're doing this in any 'official' capacity (ie: as a business)."

"The most important step a man can take is the next one

Always the next one."

Oathbringer is just too good.

Hopefully soon - I'd love more homelab upgrades

Yes

I'm not an instance owner for Lemmy but a lot of us enjoy hosting different services at home on old/recycled hardware as a hobby or a means to escape big tech.

I personally run a few things like Plex (media), PiHole (adblock), and NextCloud ("cloud" storage).

It's sustainable as the Fediverse is a decentralized platform, meaning that, if necessary, we can rebuild accounts on a different instance if something happens to our existing one.

Their faux fur lined jackets are super comfy all-weather jackets

They have pockets you can back your car into because they go from the bottom to the top of the entire garment

It's the only jacket I actually like anymore. I have two now and just got rid of my old one.

If you followed how he got nominated, it was yet another scheme by the establishment Dems (who are a center right party, in the rest of the world's perspective) to stop Sanders or any properly leftist candidate from winning.

All the less popular candidates dropped out and endorsed Biden on the same day at a critical moment in the primary season.

It was less obvious than the heavy-handed tactics of 2024's primaries, but he was absolutely ordained by the party and not the primary voters.

I'd like to get a dashcam, but unfortunately my phone isn't one that has an SD card slot.

I'm going on a road trip soon and would like to pick up a dash cam for it as I've had issues in the past.

I'm looking to see if you guys have any cleaner (as in more automated, less fiddly post-setup) solutions than just using an SD Card reader on the phone to manually upload the data to a NAS via VPN

Thanks in advance! I'm definitely more of a tech person than a car person so any help would be appreciated.

Edit: you all seem to be making the same point, I'm coming at this from the wrong POV. I'm worried about vendor lock-in and being reliant on whatever service the vendor wants to use instead of just handling the data myself. But it seems like it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Thanks for all your answers!

I've missed this series for a long time, and I'll never forgive Epic for dropping it like a baby giraffe.

It plays pretty well on my gaming rig, but I'd love to hear about how it plays on lower-end systems. Maybe I'll install it on my 2-in-1 so I can use the touch screen.
