I keep being tempted to upgrade from my perfectly serviceable Remarkable1 to a 2 because my 1 is often dead just when I need it. (Maybe I should just plug it in every night the way I do my phone.) But is the Remarkable2 battery as good as the site claims? Could you give me an idea of how long the battery lasts with varying degrees of use?

If you can find one on Ebay, AlphaSmarts are like the Freewrite and waaaayyyy cheaper. All you can do on them is type. You can only see a few lines of your text at a time, so the impulse to edit as you write is reduced. They run on AAs, and you send the text to your computer via a cable.
