At night, Kindle paper-white, one book at a time. Some nights i read for an hour, some just a few minutes. If it doesn't hold my interest, I move on.

When is a car not a car? When it turns into a driveway!

Open up a dispute with your credit card company. The merchant will have to provide a receipt of some type to the bank, to prove a transaction took place

I can probably see a new computer by then... (my car hits 20 next year...) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thank you. I'm retired, and unlikely to upgrade Office. Ver 2016 still does exactly what I need to do.

I'll keep my router secured, my firewall updated as long as it will, and anti virus /malware up to date.

Serious question : My desktop is incompatible with Win11, I run Win10, and I use it for web browsing, Excel, and a little Word processing. Nothing else. Can't i just continue on as is? Not a gamer, not a heavy user...

I was pleased to hear that Manhattan Transfer added lyrics to Weather Report's Birdland. But I still prefer the original.

Timed funds may not have a yield listed as each one is customized to the year it "completes" and may not have much data yet. If you have the option, a fund like FZROX, continually contributed to and left alone for 25 years should yield nice results.

Water contains two elements, hydrogen (very explosive) and oxygen, which can make almost anything burn. You'd think tossing a match into a body of water would end all life, for the amount of stored Oxygen and Hydrogen. It won't because it is essentially ash. Inert. It takes a large amount of energy to separate the Oxygen and Hydrogen from each other, before either could be used again. That is the problem. That's why we don't pour a gallon of water into a tank and head across country.

Pretty sure I have my Lemmy account flagged English, but I'll play with settings there, thanks!
