The default mouse+keyboard layout the controller starts in before Steam takes over. I think they call it that as a play on the phrase "lizard brain"

The controller requires some sort of drivers to get out of lizard mode and work as a general controller (with remapping and everything). This has been known as it acts identically to Steam Deck and the OG Steam Controller.

If you want to use the controller without Steam being used (which, it's worth noting, you can add non-steam games to Steam to use the controller, or adjust the default desktop profile to be a normal controller), then you should be able to use SISR (formerly GloSC and GloSI): https://github.com/Alia5/SISR

Or, on Linux, use sc-controller: https://github.com/C0rn3j/sc-controller

Day one buy when it's available in my region. My original steam controller was amazing until the wireless adapter crapped out (plus its Bluetooth mode was not great, sadly) and the A button membrane broke. I even tuned that fucking thing to play 2d platformers competently, let alone shooters with gyro aim. I missed it.

My Steam Deck has been rock solid and I've wanted something with an identical layout for my PC and docked Deck since it released. I can't wait

Tbf they did address the pop os shenanigans on wan show, like, a week ago. I suspect the next video could be summarized as: "pop os should be considered beta, mint is your solid bet for something that just works, but cachy/Bazzite are neat and worth a look. Kernel anti-cheat and professional software are still show-stoppers for some people"

I think it's valid for boosting raw 60fps to 120fps (or whatever your max refresh rate is) in games that aren't super latency sensitive. Boosting something like 180 or 240FPS to 360 or 480 is probably valid for more latency sensitive things like competitive shooters since it would (theoretically) increase readability of motion at an imperceptible cost to latency.

Personally, I'd probably use multi-frame-gen only for boosting games that are capped at 60 and for games where I can stably reach 120 but no higher if I had a super high refresh rate monitor and the game provides good clean frames to start with (which is... Arguable in a ton of modern titles).

Using it to boost, like, 30->60 or higher, or even 45->90, is idiotic. The latency at native 30 is already annoying and at 45 is just barely pushing into the range where it's less noticeable in casual play, so adding any latency is just a really bad trade.

Seems neat, though I don't have a use for it.

It'd be much more helpful to me if it just used those OCR boxes to provide mouse-over dictionary lookups via yomitan rather than a translation.

Right now I use Google Lens for that, but that means I'm sharing selected text into a dictionary app or chatgpt, or gambling on Google search just giving me the JP->EN definition with no prompting besides the word itself.

Ease of setup, difficult to break, and most of the things that the atomic setup makes otherwise difficult are trivially easy to workaround with Distrobox.

Alternatively, use a different alias so it doesn't override the original. "la" and just "l" are pretty common

If something's marked unsupported I just double check ProtonDB before I buy it

I'm not reading it as them being mad about things that are both KDE and Wayland related at the same time, but rather mad about things related to at least one or the other.

Dumb post though.

We've had anime girls in the past. No new ones since Windows 10 though. https://www.ostan-collections.net/wiki/index.php/Windows_10
