Wake me up when they finally bring up the UI to modern standards
Its great, I'd argue its main downfall (lack of popularity) stems a lot from the fact they don't have any form of API like Wikipedia does. They can't even agree on a single logo. Otherwise its a great resource.
Same with people believing all vtubers are AI chatbots or, to a lesser extent, that all female vtubers are just men with voice changers.
Like a minute or two of looking up either on any search engine would clear things up. But hell if it does show how little the average internet user seems to know about AI or audio editing. A lot of people seem to think technology is just straight up magic.
Like that one MatPat picture he started using as his avatar, so much so that he looks photoshopped into the real picture now.
Saying it works is very generous.

Honestly if anyone gives them their money at this point. That's on them.
Its the absolute lack of algorithm. No, really. I know Mastodon toots it as a feature, but without an algorithm to keep people scrolling most people just close the app and do something else. People who don't understand instances would just go to mastodon.social anyway, but since no mastodon instance is actively trying to keep its users engaged 24/7, people naturally realize they have better things to do than to use social media all say.
Which is better for humanity, but bad for retention.
Why is the preview pic two politicians kissing aggresively
The only active AI feature is the automatic alt text one, and that's entirely local. The second one is a sidebar that will just open AI chat websites, which you could already do by just, ya know, looking up the webpages the regular way. No data is getting sent anywhere so far.
I still feel like they seem to be building a bit too much hype to what's going to be just another type of social media in the fediverse with scarce posts made by almost exclusively tech enthusiasts
