When I made this post ๐Ÿ˜ but it's a guess based on my experience. I don't know if there's a way to see stats of when most people are on Lemmy.

I feel to maximize growth:

  • Post daily at a time when most people are on Lemmy.
  • Always try to include an interesting picture with the post. If you're sharing a URL, sometimes a thumbnail doesn't show or is uninteresting. In these cases, find a better picture and use that and move the URL to the body of the post.
  • Shamelessly plug the community every chance you get. Speaking of which, !augmented_reality@lemmy.world

Monochrome (green) head mounted display that looks like a regular pair of glasses. Mainly useful as a HUD. Has a microphone but no speakers. Seems to have basic head tracking. Marketing claims a day and a half of battery life with light use.

Main Features:

  • Live Translation
  • Speech-to-Text 30-Second Notes
  • Phone Notifications
  • AI Assistant (an LLM)
  • GPS navigation
  • Time/Date/Weather

I wore XReal glasses while grocery shopping and had my shopping list floating in my peripheral vision (using Samsung Dex note taking app). It was an amazing experience! And I didn't forget the milk ๐Ÿ˜‹ (pic is just for laughs, not representative of experience)

I love the XReal Air 1 glasses, but the arms are prone to cracking. Put binder clips on the hinge to reinforce them.
