Not a fully fledged DE but might be enough for your usecase: Flex-Launcher

KDE Kast does sync with it as far as I remember. Not the best in terms of UX though.

Gotcha, thanks! Similar setup to mine then.

Do you create ZFS snapshots and let those be backed up to B2 via restic or do you backup different types of data, one with ZFS snapshots and one with restic?

Fumbling around with k3s to get my toes into deploying a Kubernetes cluster from scratch for the first time ever. No real long term usage planned, just some testing to gather experience.

I'm in the process of doing an initial restic sync of my primary storage to B2 as offsite backup and while I'm at it finally got around having a look at resticprofiles to simplify my restic backups on all my systems. Highly recommend it as it reduced my mental overhead of doing regular backups quite a bit!

True that. And with one thing you are right: the Miyoo Mini Plus is absolutely awesome for what it is designed for!

[–] ItTakesTwo@feddit.org 0 points 5 months ago (2 children)

That's not really an adequate recommendation imo. The Miyoo Mini Plus has subpar battery runtime due to it's size limitations and it's LCD screen, compared to actual eInk devices. The screen size and ratio is also not suitable for effective reading, even though it is possible to read eBooks with it.

Finalise my physical network to have at least one available port in every essential room & build a new home server/NAS.

You reminded me of the fact that I already undervolted my GPU so it's probably a good call to nudge the PSU up a little... 750W it is.

I probably don't specifically need a 12 core CPU but comparing the prices of the 7900 non-X, 7900X, 7800X3D and the 7950X3D in Germany and considering the fact that for me gaming vs productive work balances at ~10% to 90% it really makes not much sense to consider anything but the 7900 non-X I think. The 7800X3D is well above 500€ again unfortunately and the 7950X3D even above 600...

Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated!

My current build is nearly ten years old at this point and it really shows. Time to pull the switch. I got the GPU already last year but only now got around picking the remaining parts. Looking forward to feedback on my chosen parts:
