Flights too and from BA from the US are expensive.

Why?

Because unlike flights to Europe or Asia which cross many time zones, flights from the US to BA only cross 1-2 time zones.

Because of the long flight time and not crossing many time zones, the airplane has more down time and cannot be flown as much versus Europe when the airplane lands at a time when it can be used for the next flight right away.

That's some shitty city I'll never visit because it looks like d-bag city with no character and have zero interest in any type of shitty culture they breed.
